3DMAX have won Logitech G Play Connect in Warsaw after surviving a five-map grand final against Luminosity. The French side closed the series 3-2 on Nuke after nearly seven hours of play, converting a difficult tournament run into their second trophy of September.

The victory also changed the team’s position beyond the trophy cabinet. The result delivered 214 Valve points and moved 3DMAX into the PGL Major Singapore qualification zone as Europe’s 18th-ranked team. That ranking gain gives the title immediate competitive value while the Major race remains active.

The final repeatedly changed direction. 3DMAX opened with a 13-11 win on Cache, but Luminosity answered 19-16 on Dust2. The French team then took Ancient 19-15 before losing Inferno 13-8, leaving Nuke to decide the championship.

Luminosity had recovered from a two-map deficit and stood one map from completing the reverse sweep. Instead, 3DMAX won the Nuke decider 16-13 in overtime. The finish mattered because it showed the team could reset after losing two of the previous three maps and still execute during the longest, highest-pressure stage of the event.

A title built through recovery rather than control

3DMAX did not follow a straight route to the final. Their group results included losses to Inner Circle and Liquid, alongside wins over EYEBALLERS, BBL and INFINITE. They finished second after a three-way tie, so the eventual champion had already been forced to respond to setbacks before the playoffs began.

The knockout stage continued that pattern. 3DMAX beat M80 2-1 and then defeated Inner Circle 2-1, reversing the result of their group meeting. Those series prepared the team for a final in which no single map settled the contest and every momentum swing required another tactical adjustment.

That context makes the Nuke result more revealing than a comfortable sweep would have been. 3DMAX had lost Dust2 in overtime, watched their series lead disappear on Inferno and then entered another close finish. Winning the last map demonstrated endurance, but it also showed that the earlier losses did not dictate the decisive veto.

Five arena maps represent the long grand final between 3DMAX and Luminosity
  • 3DMAX defeated Luminosity 3-2 in the grand final.
  • The five-map series lasted nearly seven hours and ended in overtime on Nuke.
  • The title awarded 3DMAX 214 Valve points.
  • The French team moved to 18th in Europe and into the current Major qualification zone.

The map scores also show why the final remained open for so long. Four maps were decided by five rounds or fewer, and two required overtime. Neither team created a sustained advantage across the whole series, so the championship depended on which side could produce one final close-map finish.

For 3DMAX, the ranking return is as important as the marathon itself. Tournament trophies do not automatically guarantee a Major place, but 214 new Valve points have placed the team inside the relevant European zone. Future results can still change that position, which makes the Warsaw win a strong step rather than a completed qualification campaign.

Major value extends the meaning of the trophy

Winning a second title in the same month gives 3DMAX evidence of repeatable form across more than one event. The Warsaw run was especially useful because it demanded several different responses: recovering from group losses, winning two three-map playoff series and surviving a best-of-five final that reached its full distance.

The reported interest from Envy creates an additional storyline around the roster, but it remains separate from the confirmed sporting result. No acquisition has been announced. The reliable conclusion is narrower: the current 3DMAX lineup won the event, gained ranking points and improved its Major outlook.

That distinction protects the achievement from speculation. Whatever organizational name the players may use later, their result in Warsaw belongs to the team that completed the tournament. Their next responsibility is to defend the ranking position that the title created.

A trophy and rising ranking marker show 3DMAX moving into the Major zone
Map Luminosity 3DMAX Outcome
Cache 11 13 3DMAX lead
Dust2 19 16 Series level
Ancient 15 19 3DMAX lead
Inferno 13 8 Series level
Nuke 13 16 3DMAX win in overtime

3DMAX leave Warsaw with a trophy, 214 Valve points and a place inside the current European qualification zone for PGL Major Singapore. Those are concrete rewards from a run that was rarely comfortable but repeatedly showed the team’s ability to recover.

The five-map final supplied the clearest test. After Luminosity forced a decider, 3DMAX still found the last close win on Nuke. That result turns an exhausting series into one of the most consequential victories of the team’s season.
