Eternal Fire and Nemesis have secured the final two places at Stake Ranked Episode 5 after completing unbeaten paths through the closed qualifier. The result finalizes an eight-team LAN field that will compete from October 27-30 for $100,000 and late Valve Regional Standings points before the Singapore Major invitation cutoff.

Eternal Fire defeated WBT, Nuclear TigeRES and K27 in their half of the single-elimination bracket. Nemesis advanced through Rune Eaters, Sashi and fnatic on the opposite side, ensuring that both qualification places went to teams capable of winning three consecutive best-of-three series.

The two teams join Astralis, MIBR, B8, magic, Inner Circle and BIG at the main event. That lineup combines direct invitees with qualifier survivors and leaves no open positions. For Eternal Fire and Nemesis, the route was demanding because a single series loss would have ended the attempt without a lower-bracket recovery.

Neither qualifier was inside the projected Singapore Major invitation positions when the field was completed. However, Stake Ranked Episode 5 takes place before the November 2 cutoff, giving both teams an additional ranked LAN on which to pursue points. Qualification keeps that possibility open without guaranteeing that either side will reach the required position.

Two clean bracket runs complete the main-event lineup

Eternal Fire’s route tested the MisteM-led roster against three different opponents. WBT were the first obstacle, Nuclear TigeRES followed in the middle round, and K27 stood between the team and the LAN. Winning all three series gave Eternal Fire one of the two first-second qualifier placements rather than merely a strong finish without advancement.

Nemesis followed the same structural path on the other side. Victories over Rune Eaters and Sashi produced a deciding series against fnatic, and another win delivered the second available invitation. K27 and fnatic therefore finished third-fourth, one step short of the main event despite deep qualifier runs.

The completed Stake Ranked Episode 5 field is:

Two three-step knockout paths converge on separate qualification gates
  • Astralis, MIBR, B8 and magic form half of the confirmed lineup.
  • Inner Circle and BIG hold the remaining pre-qualifier places.
  • Eternal Fire qualified through wins over WBT, Nuclear TigeRES and K27.
  • Nemesis qualified by defeating Rune Eaters, Sashi and fnatic.

The closed qualifier contained sixteen teams and used best-of-three matches throughout. That format reduced the effect of a single poor map but increased the importance of roster depth and veto preparation. A qualifying team needed enough reliable choices to survive three opponents without the safety of a second life.

ex-RUBY, Nuclear TigeRES, Sashi and Iberian Soul ended in fifth-eighth, while K27 and fnatic reached the final qualifying round. The placements show that the bracket offered no consolation route: only the two winners received spots at the LAN, and every other run ended outside the main-event field.

The timing now changes the objective for Eternal Fire and Nemesis. Qualifying was about surviving a knockout bracket; the LAN will be about turning that place into meaningful VRS value. The opportunity exists because the event concludes before the Major invitation cutoff, but its value will depend on match wins against the stronger completed field.

A late $100,000 LAN offers one more route toward Singapore

Stake Ranked Episode 5 is scheduled for October 27-30, leaving only a short interval before the November 2 invitation date. That position gives every result immediate relevance, especially for teams outside the projected Major range. Strong opposition can increase the value of a deep run, while an early exit would limit the points available.

Eternal Fire and Nemesis should therefore treat qualification as access rather than completion. They have earned a place alongside established organizations, but neither team received a Major ticket by winning the closed qualifier. The next task is to convert the LAN appearance into results before the ranking window closes.

The full field also ensures that the event will not need a late replacement to reach eight teams. Organizers can prepare the competitive structure around a settled participant list, while the qualifiers gain time to study opponents that were already confirmed.

Eight blank team stations form a completed professional tournament field
Qualifier Defeated opponents Main-event status
Eternal Fire WBT, Nuclear TigeRES, K27 Qualified
Nemesis Rune Eaters, Sashi, fnatic Qualified
K27 Reached final qualifying round Did not qualify
fnatic Reached final qualifying round Did not qualify

Eternal Fire and Nemesis completed the only outcome that mattered in a single-elimination qualifier: both won their sides of the bracket and claimed the two available LAN places. Their victories finalize the eight-team Stake Ranked Episode 5 lineup.

The reward is a $100,000 event positioned just before the Singapore Major invitation cutoff. Both teams remain outside the projected invitations, but qualification gives them a legitimate final opportunity to change that position through ranked LAN results.
