Vitality have reached the StarLadder StarSeries Fall 2026 grand final after defeating FURIA 2-0 in the consolidation final. The result was decisive on both maps: 13-5 on Cache and 13-8 on Anubis. Aurora awaited in the title match, while FURIA’s run in Barcelona ended one series short of that stage.

This was not the teams’ first meeting at the tournament. Vitality had already beaten FURIA in the upper-bracket semifinal on September 18, but that earlier series used Mirage and Dust2. The rematch turned on a different veto. FURIA removed Dust2 first and left Anubis available, allowing Vitality to select it. The change produced a new pair of maps, not a reversal of the outcome.

FURIA coach sidde described the veto afterward as an attempt to play a different map pool against Vitality. That explanation matters because the Anubis appearance was a deliberate choice in the process, not an accidental repeat of the earlier match. It does not, however, make the experiment a success: Vitality won Anubis and closed the series without needing a decider.

The first map did more of the damage. Cache was FURIA’s selection, yet Vitality held them to five rounds. FURIA found some openings on its attacking half, with YEKINDAR involved early, but Vitality repeatedly stopped the attacks. ropz contributed several multi-kill defenses at B and ZywOo held A with the AWP. FURIA’s isolated successful rounds never grew into a sustained stretch.

Cache leaves FURIA chasing the series

FalleN won a one-versus-two situation at the end of the first half of Cache, but that round did not alter the shape of the map. After the side switch, FURIA managed only one defensive round. A YEKINDAR multi-kill supplied that response; flameZ later won his own one-versus-two situation as Vitality finished 13-5.

The numbers give the wider performance some scale. Across the two maps, ZywOo posted 42 kills against 16 deaths and a 1.88 Rating 3.0. ropz finished with 32 kills, 20 deaths and a 1.36 rating. Those series totals do not explain every tactical exchange, but they are consistent with the reporting on their influence in the key Cache defenses.

  • Cache: Vitality won 13-5 on FURIA’s selection after restricting the Brazilian side to one round following the side switch.
  • Anubis: Vitality won 13-8 on its own selection after an 8-4 first half.
  • Series consequence: Vitality advanced to the grand final against Aurora; FURIA were eliminated.

There is a useful distinction between the map result and the veto argument. Choosing a different path to Anubis gave FURIA a chance to avoid another Dust2, where Vitality had won 13-5 in the earlier meeting. It did not put FURIA in command of the series. Vitality had already taken the opponent’s pick, so a competitive Anubis alone would only have kept the match alive.

The final match score therefore combines two related failures for FURIA: an unsuccessful pick on Cache and a missed opportunity to make the Anubis experiment count. Treating the entire loss as a veto mistake would also miss the plays on the server. Vitality converted key rounds and its leading performers built a clear statistical advantage.

Anubis offers a brief response but no decider

FURIA started its attacking half on Anubis with two rounds, but an apEX clutch interrupted that opening. Vitality then built an 8-4 halftime lead. The score left FURIA a route back, unlike the much wider gap on Cache, yet it also meant another comeback was required just to force a third map.

There was a response after the break. FURIA won a force-buy, and FalleN’s four-kill push through A main helped them recover ground. Vitality nevertheless retained control of the closing phase, with ZywOo again prominent. The 13-8 finish made Anubis closer than Cache without changing the essential result: FURIA did not take a map in the rematch.

The two meetings at this event can be compared without confusing their settings. Both were best-of-three series and both finished 2-0 for Vitality. The September 18 upper-bracket match went through Mirage and Dust2; the September 20 consolidation final was played on Cache and Anubis. Different vetoes led to the same winner and, in the latter case, directly determined the remaining place in the final.

FalleN CS2
StarSeries Fall meeting Map one Map two Outcome
September 18 upper-bracket semifinal Mirage 13-8 Dust2 13-5 Vitality 2-0
September 20 consolidation final Cache 13-5 Anubis 13-8 Vitality 2-0

Vitality left the consolidation final with a place opposite Aurora in the best-of-five title match. FURIA left with a second defeat to the same opponent at StarSeries Fall, this time after changing the maps in the series. The comparison is especially clear because the earlier 2-0 and the rematch 2-0 involved four different maps.

For FURIA, the 13-8 Anubis score shows some recovery after Cache but not a series-changing one. For Vitality, the combination of a successful Cache defense, a controlled Anubis finish and ZywOo’s 42-kill series was enough to settle the remaining final berth.
